Their vision is to do that one person at a time in the context of relationships we have in the community. They have an opportunity for a resident to serve in Kids Ministry!

What are your greatest hopes and dreams for the next couple of years for your church?
We believe the best is yet to come here at GCC. We are moving to becoming a church is focused on reaching our “one” for Jesus. We are a relationally focused church in a university town that is constantly praying and seeking opportunities to help people know, love and follow Jesus.
Why did you choose to do a residency & what are you hopeful will happen through this process?
We have a heart for the next generation of leaders. We cannot sit back and think that leaders will naturally sprout up ready for the challenge of leadership ministry. We must be intentional about growing and nurturing young leaders for the sake of Jesus and his mission to seek and save the lost. Our hope is that through the residency we can exponentially impact ministry at GCC as well as prepare future leaders for what God has in store for them.
What is it like to work on staff there?
Our staff likes to have fun. We are intentional about celebrating wins, and helping each other through challenges. We are mission driven and team focused.

What qualities does it take to “win” on staff at your church?
Put Jesus First - lead out of your own relationship with Jesus.
Be humble and hungry - welcome constructive criticism and alway be learning.
Help the team win - be willing to do what needs to be done for the sake of the team.
Don’t be scared to fail - be willing to try new things.
Who will the resident report to? Will there be a different person acting as coach?
The resident will report to the Kids pastor - Hannah Newlin. Hannah is an Enneagram 6 - Wing 7. She loves kids and is highly administrative and organizational.
Are there particular assessment tools that you prefer when exploring potential staff people?
We love using the enneagram as an assessment for staff.

350 in person

In general, what is your church demographic?
Greencastle IN, is a rural college town. DePauw University sits at the center of town. And Greencastle is about 40 mins West of Indianapolis. We have farmers and white collar workers who commute to Indy. We have students who study at DePauw as well a blue collar men and women who work in Greencastle. We are a congregation that continues to grow younger, while also working hard to minister to our elderly demographic.

No, we are a single location at this point.
How many conversions has your church had in the past 12 months? (however you define this and whatever you count)
We have had 15 baptisms in the last 12 months.
What percentage of people are involved in a small group?

What is your church known for in the community?
We are a church that is for Putnam County. We have a food pantry and a children’s clothing boutique. We host a yearly back pack give away in the fall and a Christmas gift away in the winter. This past fall we had a fall party with food trucks, games and inflatables for the kids.
