world-class content

how

Content comes at us seemingly at every moment of our day.  At the speed of blogs, tweets, posts, and email marketing we are inundated with help, offers, and pleas to do more and get better. This is true where Leadership Pathway is embedded.

We are trying to help current leaders architect sustainable leadership development for young leaders. I bet every day someone on the team shares something they just heard or read. We are influenced every day by thought leaders, practitioners, and coaches of all sorts.

We have our favorite influencers, and we try to be a positive influence on others. I bet this is true of you as well. After all, you’re still reading

From day one of Lp, we've said there’s no magic sauce in our books, blogs, coaching, and other content. I’m not sure what you are trained or certified in, but they all claim to hold the key to unlocking future gains in leadership development, emotional intelligence, and personal execution.

Any of us can spend thousands of dollars and many hours honing our skills in how to present these tools that will help develop leaders. We can get the certificate, frame it, and hang it on the wall behind us so our camera can catch it in the background for our next Zoom coaching session. But that tool is not the secret to moving forward.

It’s the follow-up conversation that will turn normal content into an opportunity for world-class development.

Purchasing all the best Dewalt tools at Home Depot doesn’t make you a finish carpenter. Asking a veteran carpenter for advice, listening, putting into practice what they say, and doing it repeatedly will put you on the path to becoming one.

Some people love the Enneagram. Some love CliftonStrengths. Some people prefer Life Planning or the Patterson Process. Some are certified as a coach in DiSC…on and on it goes does it matter which one? I actually don’t know which tool is better.

I do know when you learn how to follow up on content with young leaders, ask great questions, and be prescriptive when needed, you’ll become a world-class developer of the next generation.
