Cady Riemann : My Leadership Pathway

Everyone loves a good story and this is one of the best in our efforts to find, support and develop the next generation through church residency.

I chose ministry because I have a passion for Jesus and for people. My degree is in Elementary Education, but if I had gone into teaching, I would have had a much harder time being able to share Jesus in the ways I want. I know how much Jesus has changed my life and the things He’s done for me, and I want to share that with others so that they can find joy and a purpose.

I am the Central Services Resident at StoneBridge Christian Church in Omaha, NE. I’m serving in Operations and helping with things like the First Impressions Team, Security, Benevolence, and Building Rental.

I’m so grateful for this experience thus far. What has been so great is knowing I have a safe environment to figure out who I am and what it looks like for me to do ministry in the ways God has gifted me. I am learning so much about myself and about other people. This all comes with growing pains, but it has been so worth it, and I know there is more coming, too, My favorite time is Sunday mornings. Connecting with our volunteers is so special for me! I am realizing how relational I really am, and it is such a blessing to be able to get to know all the people who help make our church be what it is.

I still have so much to learn, and I’m so eager because in the 5 months I’ve been here, I’ve already grown in ways I never expected. One of my biggest hopes is to grow in my self-confidence and assertiveness. I know in my position and with whom I interact, I most definitely will!

Giving the next generation opportunities to learn, grow, and figure out what a career in ministry looks like is such a great idea. It is so helpful to teach, pour into, and lead these individuals that are longing and seeking to do ministry. I never realized I could learn and experience so much in only a few months. I can hardly imagine what a full 2 years will do!

If you’re wondering about pursuing ministry, I’d recommend doing it. I was in my final year and a half of college, knowing I really didn’t want to change majors to add more school to my plate. Instead, I completed my degree and took steps toward volunteering and interning before deciding on Leadership Pathway’s Residency at StoneBridge. I’m on a path to becoming highly desired and hirable in full-time ministry, and I’m excited about what the future holds!

I’m Cady Riemann, and this is my leadership pathway.
