Elsie Froemming: My Leadership Pathway

Residency has been transformational for me.

My journey towards leadership began with my desire to not lead, yet I moved forward with a sense of responsibility and an attitude of obedience and heart to follow God no matter what, even if that meant feeling uncomfortable or out of my element. In doing so, I’ve learned that leadership is needed in many aspects of life, and it’s not about ordering people around but rather being a good example, communicating and building relationships.

I'd say my experience has been amazing! I’ve reaped the benefit of having mentors come alongside me, and I’ve been given so many hands-on opportunities serving as a worship resident at Cornerstone Church, outside of Minneapolis MN.

I’ve learned so much already like realizing my need to improve my time management. I’ve had to prioritize my schedule better, especially with tasks that don’t always have a definitive deadline.

My recommendation to someone considering residency is…Be willing to be a beginner and get uncomfortable. Saying YES is the first step.

I’m Elsie Froemming, and this is my leadership pathway.
